Summer 2 - Week 5
Date: 10th Jul 2026 @ 1:57pm
Another busy week in sunshine!
In English this week we have been talking about going on holiday and what we might need to go on a hot and cold holiday. We also talked about what we might need to go on holiday to the moon and as part of our English tasks the children made their own lists of what they would take to space!
In maths we have been focusing on capacity and volume using water and containers, looking at when a container is empty>nearly empty>half full>nearly full>full. The children enjoyed experimenting with the water and containers to represent the capacity in the containers.
This week was our sports day! I am sure we can all agree the children did wonderful and thank you to all the family and friends that came along to support the children and for getting involved.
In cooking this week, the children made Oreo Cheesecake, it is safe to say the children thoroughly enjoyed making and eating the cheesecake. It was also wonderful to see some children trying a new taste and texture.
In science this week we have been exploring the planets in space with our own tuff tray solar system and also researching some facts about different planets and writing about them.
With the warm weather continuing, please can we remind parents to ensure your child comes to school with a sun hat and sun cream. Thank you to all those parents that have already provided us with sun cream.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
