Summer 2 Week 2

As part of our phase one phonics the children have been focusing on matching objects using different categories e.g colour and size.

In maths we have been focusing on 2D shapes. We have explored these through song, interactive games and 1-1 activities at the workstation.

In identiplay we have been focusing on babies. The children are encouraged to follow a series of instructions modelled by the adult e.g “feed the baby”. The children can then begin to implement this within the classroom during play.

In our afternoon sessions our main focuses have been iced buns and Father’s Day cards. The children started their week decorating buns using a communication board to carefully select their toppings. The children then moved on to making Father’s Day cards, decorating ties using coloured pieces of paper and PVA glue.

Bernice was our star of the week for making a request using a core board during play. Well done Bernice!
