Summer 2 - Week 1

What a fantastic first week back, the children have been amazing and hav settled straight back in! 

We have introduced lots of new topics this week! In English we are looking at the story 'the man on the moon' which also coincides with our space and solar system topic in Science where the children have been learning about why we have daytime and nighttime and what happens during these times. To help the children develop their knowledge, we used a torch to represent the sun and shined it onto a globe to represent the daytime and how where the torch wasn't shining it was night time ! 

In cooking this week the children made their own rocky road which they very much enjoyed eating for their snack the following day! 

We also have sports day coming up very soon so in PE we have been practicing some of the activities that will be involved in the day to ensure the children build the confidence up to take part and have a go!
