Summer 1 Week 5

As part of our phase one phonics we have been finding matching pairs. The children have had a range of picture cards and the adult has modelled picking one up and finding one the same. The children were then given the opportunity to find pairs of their own.

In maths, we continued working on our numbers 1-10  using duplo blocks to build towers. The children were encouraged to count out the correct number of blocks for each tower and place them onto the corresponding number on the number line.

In identiplay, we have been focusing on ducks. The children are encouraged to follow a series of one step instructions by the adult e.g “duck in water ”. The children can then begin to implement this within the classroom during play.

In our afternoon sessions we have had lots of sensory food play. We have set up the tuff trays with different themes such as the ocean and dinosaurs.

Kian was our star of the week for independently approaching an adult led activity. Well done Kian!
