Summer 1 - Week 4
Date: 8th May 2026 @ 4:04pm
Sunshine have been wonderful this week!
In maths and English this week we have been looking at instructions both understanding instructions and following instructions. The children really enjoyed playing 'Simon Says' where we would trick them by saying and pointing to different things, why don't you have a go with your child at home?
This half term we have been focusing on sensory circuits both as part of our curriculum and during PE sessions. During PE we have been using sensory circuits but on a larger scale. The children have thrived from having a larger space to move their bodies and really feel the sensory feedback from organising, alerting and calming their bodies.
In cooking this week, the children made their own potatoe skins. In the kitchen they decided what ingredients they would like to put in their potatoes, they scooped out the potatoe, mixed in their choice of ingredients before placing the mixture back into the skin to be placed in the oven. Lots of children thoroughly enjoyed eating their potato skin once it was ready!
We have been continuing our planting topic in science, recapping what we have learnt over the previous weeks. We explored different ground environments and discussed which environment was the best for plants to grow. The children also practiced their sequencing and ability to remember in which order we plant flowers for them to be able to thrive. The children shown brilliant retention of the information they had learnt previously and were able to relay that back within the lesson!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
