Summer 1 Week 3

As part of our phase one phonics we have continued with our matching games as well as exploring the ‘odd one out’.

In maths, we recapped our numbers 1-5 before introducing numbers 6-10 through songs and interactive games.

In identiplay, we have been focusing on babies, the children are encouraged to follow a series of one step instructions by the adult e.g “feed the baby”. The children can then begin to implement this within the classroom during play.

In our afternoon sessions we have been looking at different pizza toppings. The children took part in a cut and stick activity where they used a communication board to help them choose which toppings to stick onto their pizza. Then on friday, we got to make our very own pizzas and we all sat round to enjoy them.

We was very lucky to able to test out the new playground equipment this week and we can honestly say it went down VERY well with our class!

We also had a special visit from some fluffy friends on Wednesday. It was very exciting and all our children handled the chicks with care. 

Theo was our star of the week for coping well with changes in routine at both home and school. Well done Theo!
