Summer 1 Week 1
Date: 20th Apr 2026 @ 2:09pm
We hope you all had a lovely half term, we are glad to be back and sharing our exciting week with you...
We have been focusing a lot on books this week. On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Madeleine Lindley where each of our children went to the library to select a book to take home.
As part of our phase one phonics we have introduced some matching games. The children have been encouraged to match symbols and images with adult support.
In maths, we have been looking at numbers 1-5. The children have been encouraged to explore the different objects before matching the objects with the correct number. Staff modelled counting the objects to support the children with this task.
In identiplay, we have been focusing on the farmyard . The children are encouraged to follow a series of one step instructions by the adult e.g “Duck! Splash!”. The children can then begin to implement this within the classroom during play.
In our afternoon sessions this week we have been baking butterfly cakes. The children helped us with the mixture, Mrs Bibi placed them into the oven and then we all got to enjoy!
Finally, Harvey was our star of the week for his enthusiasm to learning. Well done Harvey!
