Autumn 1 Week 6

In phonics, the children have been focusing on sorting activities using cubes and compare bears to support. The children have been encouraged to sort by colour, size and shape.

In maths, the children have been focusing on the song ‘5 little monkeys’. We listened to the song as a whole class before the children had the opportunity to engage with an adult on a 1-1 basis to complete their work task.

In English, we have been focusing on ‘I can make marks’. The children been focusing on making marks using a range of resources. The adult modelled pre writing shapes and the children were encouraged to copy.

This half term in topic we are focusing on ‘me and my body’. This week we focused on ‘my body moves’ and the children were encouraged to move different parts of their bodies by listening to motivating music and action songs.

In our food lesson this week we made yoghurt cups. The children had a communication board to help them decide which fruit they wanted in their cup. They then had the opportunity to taste their creations.

Michael was our star of the week for engaging well in action songs during our topic session. Well done Michael!
