Autumn 1 - Week 6 & 7
Date: 16th Oct 2026 @ 3:46pm
Apologies the blog was missed last week!
Over the last two weeks moonbeam have been extremely busy. In English we started looking at a short film called 'the present' the children explored what was happening in each scene and discussed what feelings were being expressed. The children have worked incredibly hard on creating their own comic strip based on 'the present' writing their own captions for their pictures and also speech and thought bubbles!
We have been looking at Time and direction in maths. The children found time very tricky but i was so impressed with how they listened and tried using their own clocks! Direction was lots of fun! We got to pretend to be robots and let the others direct us but the children had to remember to be very specific as they made poor Mrs Steel walk into the door because they just said 'fowards'. Our direction tasks also including treasure hunts and the introduction of co-ordinates!
In Art the children have finished their self portraits! These will be sent home hopefully next week!
In cooking over the last couple of weeks the children have made yoghurt fruit pots and pitta pizzas! The pizzas were definitely a favourite to make again!
In PE the children have loved playing dodgeball, they have celebrated each other, cheered each other and shown such good team spirit, we were in awe of how well the children behaved with such a physical game how much fun they had!
Finally, Mr Paul our Music teacher returned this week for a very noisy and fun lesson using the glokenspiels!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, see you Monday for our final week before half term!
