Autumn 1 Week 3

Date: 18th Sep 2026 @ 4:14pm

In phonics, the children are focusing on their symbolic skills through role play and creativity. This week we have focused on ‘the kitchen’ as well as mark making.

In maths, the children have been focusing on the song ‘five little speckled frogs’. We listened to the song as a whole class before the children had the opportunity to engage with an adult on a 1-1 basis to complete their work task.

In English, we have been focusing on the song ‘Miss Polly had a dolly’. The children have had the opportunity to phone the doctor, dress up as the doctor and explore the song through play.

This half term in topic we are focusing on ‘me and my body’. This week’s focus was our feet, we used paint to create our very own footprints (some of us found this very ticklish) .

In our food lesson this week we have made fruit skewers using a range of different fruits. The children had a communication board to help them decide which fruit they wanted on their skewers and later on they got the opportunity to enjoy their creations.

Mujtaba was our star of the week for identifying parts for the body through song. Well done Mujtaba!

Have a lovely weekend
